Marisa Maroney is an Associate in the firm's Matrimonial and Family Law Practice Group in the Syracuse office.
Marisa earned her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, where she excelled in International Human Rights & Disability Law. Her passion for advocacy and justice was evident throughout her academic journey. During her studies, she served as a student attorney at the Criminal Defense Clinic at Syracuse University College of Law, where she represented and appeared in court on behalf of clients within the local criminal justice system. This hands-on experience deepened her understanding of client-centered representation and the importance of equitable access to justice for all individuals.
She also served as a Law Clerk at a local law firm, where she helped draft pleadings, motions, and court orders. Her law clerk experience supported attorneys across a range of cases, further strengthening her practical legal skills, attention to detail, and understanding of courtroom procedures.
While earning her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Elmira College, Marisa interned at the Onondaga County Office of the District Attorney, where she aided attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and trial support. This opportunity allowed her to explore the inner workings of the legal process from a prosecutorial perspective, complementing her later defense work in law school.
Marisa was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, before attending Elmira College to study criminal justice. She remains closely connected to her roots and values the sense of community that shaped her early years. In her free time, Marisa enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, often taking time to unwind and recharge with family and friends.
As a dedicated and driven Syracuse attorney, Marisa brings compassion, commitment, and legal knowledge to every case.
