Marisa Maroney

Marisa represents individuals in both litigated and uncontested divorces, as well as child support and custody modifications, violations, and enforcement actions. She also helps clients navigate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements with a thoughtful balance of advocacy and future-focused planning, ensuring their best interests are protected so they can move forward feeling secure and optimistic about the next chapter of their lives.

Marisa is known for her thorough preparation, strong courtroom presence, and ability to translate complex legal processes into clear, manageable steps. She is especially skilled at navigating high conflict matters but also knows when a collaborative approach is the better path forward.

Clients trust her not only for her legal expertise, but for her calm, judgment-free presence and her ability to create space for honest, solution-focused conversations. Her goal is always to develop strategies that reflect her clients’ needs — and to make sure they never feel like they’re facing the process alone.

Marisa has long been drawn to the courtroom and direct client advocacy. While attending law school at Syracuse University College of Law, she worked as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, where she appeared in court on behalf of clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Elmira College, where she interned with the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office. During her time with the DA, she supported trial attorneys with legal research and case preparation — gaining early insight into how cases are built and tried from a prosecutorial perspective.
