Daniel Berkowitz is an Associate Attorney in the Litigation Practice Group. He focuses on commercial, business, and real estate litigation. His diverse range of experience includes complex class actions, landlord-tenant litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, dispute resolution, and new business formations.
“The most important thing your attorney can be is a creative problem solver. Few legal issues have a single and definite path to resolution. My role as a counselor and an advocate requires, above all, helping each client chart the best course toward achieving their goals.”
Previously, while serving as a public interest attorney, Daniel commenced some of the first Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law (RPAPL) Article 7-D petitions. These petitions sought court orders directing repairs for substandard conditions. Article 7-D, implemented by the Tenant Dignity and Safe Housing Act, took effect on December 30, 2023.
Daniel grew up in north suburban Chicago, where he attended public schools. He later earned his B.A. in Political Science at DePaul University. Afterward, Daniel moved to New York for law school and graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law.
Before entering the legal profession, Daniel worked as an operative and consultant for political campaigns. His work ranged from the municipal level to the presidential level.
