Casey Johnson divides his time providing legal counsel in dual citizenship matters, as counsel to clients in the Brownfield Tax Credit Program, and advising in Title IX matters. Casey is a natural problem solver and clients depend on this expertise to unravel complex legal situations to find a satisfactory solution. Casey thrives on diverse legal problems and solutions, which drive him to take the necessary time to fully understand clients’ legal needs and goals.

Dual Citizenship

Casey can help you obtain dual citizenship. Whether you just starting your dual citizenship journey, or if your dual citizenship progress has stalled, Casey will help you work through the process. If you need to obtain the release of NYS certified birth certificates, obtain “one and the same person” court orders, or obtaining orders to direct the amendment of certain vital documents, Casey is intimately familiar with the process to help put you on the path to dual citizenship.

Brownfields

Casey has considerable experience working with the firm’s Brownfield Practice, focusing on the tax incentives available through the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program. Casey can help prepare your Brownfield Tax Credit Claim and respond to any subsequent desk audit to help you get your credit claim approved. Casey can help you challenge a disallowed Brownfield Tax Credit Claim.

Title IX

For victims of sexual harassment or assault on a college campus, Casey can help prepare a successful Title IX claim. Casey is experienced in preparing appropriate legal responses and will serve as your trusted advisor in the Title IX process.

Experience

Prior to joining Bousquet Holstein, Casey was a Staff Attorney for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. He has also served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Andrew T. Baxter, U.S. Magistrate Judge, and as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Margaret Cangilos-Ruiz, U.S. Bankruptcy Court. This experience provides Casey with a fundamental understanding of the legal process, which he applies to the concerns and considerations of his clients.

Born and raised in Utah, Casey has put down roots in Central New York and is a resident of the developing Near Westside. Casey is enthusiastic about this community which provides him with opportunities to give back and make an impact where he lives and works.

These outside interests work well in Casey’s practice, giving him a unique perspective on client challenges, and helping to provide local connections and points of reference with residents, business owners, and communities.
