Hunter is a Law School Graduate – Not Yet Admitted to Practice Law in Bousquet Holstein’s Tax, Real Estate, and Corporate practice groups out of the firm’s Syracuse office. He returns to the firm after previously serving as a summer associate and part-time law clerk in 2025.

Background

As part of the Tax practice, Hunter assists clients with tax controversies, including disputes involving the IRS, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, and other tax authorities.

He also works with the Real Estate practice, assisting clients with landlord-tenant matters and legal disputes involving residential leases. In addition, he supports the firm’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit work, assisting clients with real estate transactions and related compliance matters.

Hunter graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he served as Treasurer of both the Student Bar Association and the Buffalo Moot Court Board.

During law school, Hunter participated in the Buffalo Human Rights Practicum, where he observed Buffalo Housing Court and prepared a report for the newly reinstated Buffalo Housing Court Advisory Council addressing landlord-tenant issues, with a particular focus on tenants’ rights. He also completed an independent study examining U.S. Supreme Court procedure and the Court’s emergency docket, including its use in significant legal and public policy matters and its impact on how the Court functions.

Before attending law school, he worked as an operative and consultant on political campaigns and also gained professional experience in the wine and spirits industry.
