Elizabeth Shepard is a paralegal in Bousquet Holstein’s Trust & Estates Practice Group.
Elizabeth Shepard, who goes by Liz, brings over 19 years of experience in legal support, estate planning, and estate administration. Throughout her career, she has developed exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of legal procedures. Within the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group, Liz supports attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff in a wide range of tasks, helping ensure smooth operations and responsive client service. She is known for her efficiency, effective communication, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Her work includes drafting Wills, Codicils, Health Care Proxies, and Powers of Attorney, as well as preparing Surrogate’s Court filings, Waivers and Consents to Probate, and estate close-out forms. In addition, Liz assists with obtaining Federal Identification Numbers for estates and assembling court-required documentation.
Liz enjoys guiding clients through the estate process with patience and care. By recognizing that each client’s needs are unique, she helps make complex legal procedures easier to understand. Colleagues and clients alike appreciate her calm, practical approach, along with her willingness to go the extra mile to assist.
Background
Before joining the Trusts and Estates Practice Group, Liz worked as a legal secretary at several Syracuse-area law firms. There, she gained broad experience in matrimonial law, litigation, Social Security Disability, and real estate transactions. Her work included preparing separation agreements, court petitions, affidavits, and real estate closing documents. These diverse responsibilities sharpened her skills in legal drafting, client interaction, and case management. Her background provides a well-rounded foundation that continues to benefit her practice today.
Education
Elizabeth earned her Tax Preparer certification from Liberty Tax Service in Liverpool, New York. She also attended Elmira College in Elmira, New York. She is a licensed New York State Notary Public.
