Andrew J. Castelletti

Andrew Castelletti is an Associate attorney in Bousquet Holstein’s Brownfields Practice Group out of the firm’s Syracuse office.

Andrew works with clients on tax aspects of Brownfield redevelopment projects, with a primary focus on New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program (“BCP”), helping clients to navigate the complex tax considerations that arise throughout the lifecycle of a Brownfield project, including tax planning, transactional structuring, due diligence, and tax controversy. Drawing upon his experience in multistate taxation and corporate transactions, Andrew helps clients identify opportunities to maximize available tax incentives while managing risk and achieving their business objectives. In addition to his Brownfield practice, Andrew advises clients on a broad range of state and local tax (SALT) matters. He has experience assisting businesses with multistate corporate income, sales and use, franchise, property, and withholding tax issues, as well as representing clients in audits and controversy matters before state taxing authorities and the Internal Revenue Service. Andrew strives to provide practical, business-oriented advice by translating complex tax laws into straightforward guidance that allows clients to make informed decisions.

Before joining the firm, Andrew worked at Andersen Tax in Philadelphia. As a Senior Associate in their State and Local Tax group, Andrew worked with clients on their complex multistate tax matters. His work included tax due diligence, audit defense, and strategic tax planning for clients operating throughout the United States. While attending Syracuse University College of Law, Andrew served as a Student Attorney in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where he represented taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and prepared filings for the United States Tax Court. He also interned with the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
