Akina Y. McKay

Akina McKay is a dedicated paralegal in the Trusts and Estates Practice Group, where she supports clients through a wide range of estate planning and estate administration matters. She has hands-on experience drafting Wills and Trusts, preparing Surrogate’s Court filings, and assisting clients with the legal documentation required to protect their assets and honor their wishes. Her work helps individuals and families plan for the future with confidence and clarity.

Akina is known for her friendly, approachable demeanor and resourceful mindset. She thrives on building strong relationships with clients and takes pride in making complex legal processes feel more manageable. Whether she’s answering a client’s question or organizing important documents, she brings focus and efficiency to every task. Her commitment to clear communication and timely service ensures that clients feel supported at every stage of the planning or administration process.

Outside the office, Akina actively gives back to her community. She enjoys running in local charity events such as the Cancer Resource Center 5K Walkathon and often volunteers to organize teams for causes close to her heart. Her involvement includes coordinating efforts for the Cornell University Elves Program and the Friends of Stewart Park Playground Build. Through these activities, she continues to strengthen her ties to the community and promote causes that support families and children.

Education

Akina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. She furthered her legal education by completing the Paralegal Certificate Program with Honors at Tompkins County Community College (TC3).
