Bousquet Holstein PLLC is pleased to announce that María Camila Ordóñez Santamaría has joined the firm’s Business & Commercial Practice Group, where she will support the team while awaiting the results of the New York State Bar Exam.
María brings significant international legal experience, particularly in cross-border financial transactions, banking law, and structured finance. She has developed a strong foundation practicing law in both Colombia and the United States, giving her a unique perspective in advising clients on complex corporate and financial matters.
A native of Colombia, María earned her law degree from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, where she also completed a specialization in financial legislation. She began her career as a Junior Associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz, assisting corporate clients with domestic and international financial transactions. She later advanced her career at Brigard & Urrutia, where she represented companies, investors, financial institutions, and multilateral organizations in sophisticated financing and transactional matters. While at the firm, María also contributed to the Community Committee, supporting initiatives that advanced the firm’s social impact.
María relocated to the United States to pursue an advanced legal education at Cornell Law School, where she completed her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree with a concentration in banking and financial law, structured finance, and corporate transactions. She is admitted to practice law in Colombia and is pending admission to the New York State Bar.
María will serve clients out of Bousquet Holstein’s Ithaca and Syracuse offices.
