Administrative Assistant, Litigation (Syracuse, NY)

We currently seek a full-time experienced Administrative Assistant in our Matrimonial/Family practice area and invite candidates, including those from historically underrepresented groups in the legal community, to apply.
Salary range: $26.00 – $30.00/hour DOE
Primary Responsibilities will include working with attorneys in the following areas:
- Assist attorney in all phases of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support and other related matters
- Assist with case file management, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all relevant information and correspondence
- Preparation of legal documents to include pleadings, motions, petitions, discovery requests and settlement agreements
- Preparing and filing documents with state and federal courts
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings and other court appearances
- Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls and managing correspondence with current and potential clients
- Foster a collaborative work environment by actively engaging with attorneys, paralegals and firm administration, sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the firm's legal practice
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary in a law firm, preferably in family and matrimonial law
- Professional approach to work with focus on client service; excellent communication skills, attention to detail, follow-up, and initiative to complete tasks independently
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing work priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and effective deal with a client base under stressful circumstances
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel

Litigation Paralegal (Syracuse, NY)

Primary Responsibilities will include working with attorneys in the following areas:
- Assist attorney in all phases of general litigation cases
- Preparing and filing documents with state and federal courts
- Familiarity with eDiscovery and eDiscovery software preferred
- Support attorneys during trials and hearings, including organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and maintaining accurate records
- Act as a liaison between the firm, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, communicating case updates, scheduling matters and relaying of information
- Foster a collaborative work environment by actively engaging with attorneys, fellow paralegals and law clerks, sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the firm's legal practice.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies or a related field is preferred
- 3+ years of experience as paralegal in a law firm is preferred
- Professional approach to work with focus on client service; strong indicators are excellent communications skills, attention to detail, follow-up, and initiative to complete tasks independently
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing work priorities
- Possess good organizational skills, judgment, and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

Trusts & Estates Associate (Syracuse, NY)
The firm is looking to add an Associate attorney to the Trusts and Estates Practice Group in Syracuse, New York.
In addition to being admitted to practice in New York, candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in estate and trust planning and administration.
