Controller

Bousquet Holstein, a law firm of over 45 attorneys (100+ total employees) and recognized as one of CNY’s “Best Places to Work” is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting department and provide financial information that will assist management and stakeholders in making decisions about business activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Firm strategic financial planning
  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results
  • Providing management with business performance metrics vital to the decision-making process.
  • Managing revenue and expense budget process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA highly valued
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and partnership tax
  • Law firm or other professional services experience preferred
  • Ability to assess risks, problems and issues and to develop recommended solutions
  • Advanced skills with formulas and complex financial spreadsheets in MS Excel and proficiency with other MS Office applications.

Litigation Attorney

Bousquet Holstein, a law firm of over 45 attorneys recognized as one of CNY’s “Best Places to Work,” is seeking a litigation associate with at least 3-5 years of experience handling sophisticated matters.  The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills and significant experience with all aspects of commercial/business litigation, including motion practice, depositions, court appearances, client counseling, and management of document discovery.  Trusts and estates litigation experience, especially involving contested business interests and assets, is a plus.

This position can be located in either Syracuse or Ithaca.

Real Estate Attorney – Ithaca Office

The Ithaca office of Bousquet Holstein seeks an attorney with at least 3 years of real estate experience. Candidates with at least 3 years of experience in business or corporate work with an interest in real estate are also welcome to apply.

The office handles a large volume of both commercial and residential real estate matters, representing buyers, sellers, developers and several regional lenders. The office also represents a wide variety of local and regional businesses in connection with transactional and business operating matters, and assists clients with municipal, planning, zoning and land use matters. IT Help Desk Technician

The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing timely and applicable technical assistance for all hardware, software and computer systems used throughout the Firm.  This position is the first point of contact for any IT concerns or issues which include maintaining overall daily performance of the computer systems, setting up computer peripherals for employees and new hires, and effectively communicating with co-workers in the IT department to determine the best solution.

Preferred candidate will minimally have an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of proven IT experience, or the equivalent of education and experience.  Proficiency in Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office products.  Other preferred technology experience:  Office 365, iManage/Filesite, Adobe Acrobat, CCH Practice Management Software, Avaya Phone Systems, HP Printers, Ricoh Copiers, Zoom and Go-To Meetings, Conference room setup including televisions and projectors.
