Director of Marketing (Syracuse, NY)

The Director of Marketing leads the strategic development and execution of all firmwide marketing and business development initiatives for a full-service, 60+ attorney, two-office law firm serving both B2B and B2C clients across New York State. This role is responsible for brand stewardship, digital marketing strategy, attorney business development support, and revenue-aligned growth initiatives.
Leading a two-person marketing team, the Director drives firm visibility, strengthens market positioning across diverse practice areas, and supports attorneys in expanding client relationships and generating new business opportunities. Operating at both a strategic and tactical level, this role ensures that marketing initiatives directly advance firm growth objectives.


The Director also maintains and strengthens relationships with community partners, including nonprofit organizations and professional associations, reinforcing the firm’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy and civic leadership in the region.


This position reports to the Chief of Operations and collaborates closely with firm leadership, practice group leaders, and attorneys to align marketing strategy with firm priorities and performance goals. The Director will serve as a crucial advisor in the firm’s ongoing strategic planning process and plays a key role in shaping the firm’s market presence and growth trajectory.

Salary Range: $85K – $100K DOE

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Business Development

  • Develop and execute the firm’s annual marketing and communications plan
  • Manage the marketing budget and external vendor relationships
  • Advise practice groups and attorneys on client development strategy
  • Lead RFP/RFQ responses and proposal development
  • Provide performance reporting and strategic insights to leadership
  • Chair the firm’s Marketing Committee, convening monthly meetings with firm leadership to advance marketing priorities and strategic initiatives

Brand, Digital & Content Strategy

  • Serve as a steward of the firm’s brand, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and visual

  • Oversee thought leadership content, client alerts, and marketing materials

Public Relations & Events

  • Plan and execute CLEs, conferences, client events, and firm programs aligned with attorney and practice group business development goals
  • Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Cultivate and manage intentional relationships with community organizations, non-profits, business associations, and professional groups across New York State
  • Coordinate sponsorships, partnerships, and community initiatives that align with the firm’s brand

Requirements

  • Six years of strategic marketing experience in a professional services environment, including at least 2 years of experience in a marketing management position
  • Legal industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field (or commensurate experience)
  • Strong writing, analytical, and eye for design
  • Strong networking and relationship-development skills
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
  • Executive-level communication and advisory skills
  • Exceptional project management skills

Trusts & Estates Administrative Assistant (Syracuse, NY)

We currently seek a full-time experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Trust & Estates Practice Group in our Syracuse Office.

Salary Range:  $27 – $29/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal and non-legal administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Interface with clients, administrative agencies and court personnel
  • E-file documents and coordinate paper filings of documents
  • Complete time entry and billing to ensure accurate payment
  • Provide sophisticated calendar management for Attorneys. Coordinate meetings including in-person, virtual and conference calls.
  • Complete a wide range of administrative tasks that facilitate the attorney's ability to effectively service internal and external clients
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Work closely with attorneys keeping them informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities; anticipate needs in advance of meetings, phone calls, etc.
  • Run conflict checks and create client files.

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience as an Administrative/Legal Assistant, preferably in Trust & Estates
  • Professional approach to work with focus on client service; strong indicators are excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and initiative to complete tasks independently
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing work priorities on an as-needed basis
  • Possess good organizational skills, judgment, and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

The firm is looking to add an Associate attorney to the Trusts and Estates Practice Group in Syracuse, New York.  

In addition to being admitted to practice in New York, candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in estate and trust planning and administration.
