Litigation Paralegal (Syracuse, NY)

We currently seek a full-time general Litigation Paralegal (experience preferred) in our Syracuse office and invite candidates from historically underrepresented groups in the legal community to apply.

Salary Range: $31.00/hr. – $40.00/hr. DOE

Primary Responsibilities will include working with attorneys in the following areas:

  • Assist attorney in all phases of general litigation cases
  • Preparing and filing documents with state and federal courts
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery and eDiscovery software preferred
  • Support attorneys during trials and hearings, including organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and maintaining accurate records
  • Act as a liaison between the firm, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, communicating case updates, scheduling matters and relaying of information
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by actively engaging with attorneys, fellow paralegals and law clerks, sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the firm's legal practice.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies or a related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as paralegal in a law firm is preferred
  • Professional approach to work with focus on client service; strong indicators are excellent communications skills, attention to detail, follow-up, and initiative to complete tasks independently
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing work priorities
  • Possess good organizational skills, judgment, and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel

Trusts & Estates Administrative Assistant (Syracuse, NY)

We currently seek a full-time experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Trust & Estates Practice Group in our Syracuse Office.

Salary Range:  $27 – $29/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal and non-legal administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Interface with clients, administrative agencies and court personnel
  • E-file documents and coordinate paper filings of documents
  • Complete time entry and billing to ensure accurate payment
  • Provide sophisticated calendar management for Attorneys. Coordinate meetings including in-person, virtual and conference calls.
  • Complete a wide range of administrative tasks that facilitate the attorney's ability to effectively service internal and external clients
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Work closely with attorneys keeping them informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities; anticipate needs in advance of meetings, phone calls, etc.
  • Run conflict checks and create client files.

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience as an Administrative/Legal Assistant, preferably in Trust & Estates
