Banking and Financial Institutions

The legal needs of banks and other financial institutions are varied and draw upon the experience of our attorneys throughout the firm. We serve as general counsel as well as special transactional counsel on many lending matters.

Lender liability issues are addressed through our Litigation Practice Group in association with professionals in the Banking and Financial Institutions Practice Group. Cases of check fraud, alleged wrongful lending practices and other matters before the federal and state court system are carefully handled and concluded on a regular basis.

Our attorneys also assist banks and financial institutions in restructuring distressed or special credits. This includes workouts, bankruptcies and collateral recovery and draws upon our attorneys in all practice groups.

Providing start to finish representation of banks and financial institutions in lending matters is handled on a daily basis. We assist our clients in negotiating terms, drafting commitment letters, reviewing due diligence and memorializing the transactional documents to fit the needs of each particular deal. Whether the loan concerns residential real estate, construction of commercial buildings, SBA or IDA assisted financing or asset based lending, our professionals have extensive experience with some of the largest banks in the world, as well as small local institutions and private lenders.

We practice before federal and state courts, including U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and have mediated and arbitrated matters in various venues.
