Jeffrey Davis is counsel to the firm on residential real estate and estate planning and administration matters. Jeff works extensively at all levels of real estate from small vacant lots to high level lakefront properties.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff practiced locally at his own law office for 40 years – earning himself the reputation of a trusted, thoughtful advisor for his clients.
Background
Jeff started his career with the former Syracuse firm of Axenfeld, Webb, Bersani and Scolaro, working in the litigation and general practice areas. He continued in general practice under the banner of McCrone and Davis and later affiliated with now Supreme Court Justice James Murphy.
Over time, Jeff gradually focused his practice on real estate law. In 1983, he opened his own law office as a solo practitioner. At a time when small offices rarely represented banks and other lenders, Jeff began closing for Statewide Funding Corporation, M&T Bank, Savings Bank of Utica, Partners Trust Bank, Charter One Bank, Home Funding Finders, Inc, SEFCU and Westar Federal Credit Union in addition to representing individuals and businesses for their real estate purchases and sales.
In 2007, Jeff moved his law office to the Village of Camillus and refined his practice to predominately represent individuals and families for their real estate, estate planning and administration needs. As part of this work, he gained extensive experience forming LLC’s and trusts for the transfer and ownership of real estate. His practice also includes working with easements, surveyors, homeowner’s associations, condominiums, leases, and related business matters.
Jeff has worked as an agent for Stewart Title Insurance Company for over 30 years and has worked as examining counsel for numerous title companies.
For many years, Jeff regularly lectured continuing education seminars on residential real estate for attorneys on behalf of the NY State Bar Association.
