Gregory D. Eriksen

Gregg is a Member in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, with a focus on commercial litigation.

His range of experience includes contract disputes, employment matters, government investigations, and legal and medical malpractice defense.  He has worked in a variety of settings, from State and Federal appellate matters to State administrative proceedings to Federal District Court, State Supreme Court, and various town courts.

The opportunity to offer clients exceptional personal service is what encouraged Gregg to focus his practice on litigation matters. Clients who face individual and business challenges can count on Gregg to help them navigate the legal process with confidence. As an experienced litigator, Gregg works hard to understand his clients’ goals and is ready to fight on behalf of clients who are having a difficult time.  Although his mind-set is litigation focused, Gregg’s legal experience in business transactions and employment and labor matters provides an added level of confidence for clients who need someone who understands all aspects of their business challenges.

While Gregg’s practice is focused on litigation, he is an active member of the firm’s winery and vineyard team, and he has experience in the areas of labor and employment law, business transactions, and municipal law.

Originally from the Hudson Valley, Gregg’s legal career brought him to the Syracuse area.  Gregg graduated magna cum laude from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Syracuse Law Review, was inducted into the Justinian Society and awarded the Order of the Coif for his studies, and inducted into the National Order of Scribes for his legal writing.  His legal writing also received national recognition in the form of a Burton Award for his Law Review note, which addressed wind energy in New York State, and which has been cited in subsequent articles on the topic.

Following law school, Gregg served as a law clerk to Hon. Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.  After his clerkship, he engaged in private practice in Syracuse.

Gregg has a strong belief in public engagement, and he in an active member of the Central New York community. Prior to law school, Gregg volunteered in constituent services in the district offices of multiple representatives at the State and Federal levels. He previously served as a Trustee for the Village of Skaneateles for seven years. For his professional dedication and civic engagement, Gregg was recognized as one of Central New York’s 40 Under Forty in 2016.
