Small Business Administration (the “SBA”) Syracuse District Office’s 2015 Veteran-Owned Business Achievement Award (the “VOBA Award”).
Dambach, Veteran Law Care Services, LLC, and NY Bacon Brothers Limited Liability Company (DBA “Bacon Bandits”) are all valued clients of Joshua S. Werbeck, Esq. who has worked closely with Dambach and his companies on corporate strategy and organization, government contracting and agreements, employment, and equipment leasing matters.
According to the SBA’s press release:
“The VOBA Award recognizes the entrepreneurial success of a local business owner who has served our country. The winner must meet one or more of the following criteria: staying power; growth in employees or sales; current and past financial performance; innovativeness of service or product; response to adversity; and contributions to community-oriented projects. Dambach was nominated by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University and will be presented the award at the Operation: Start Up & Grow veterans’ business conference on March 19, 2015.”
“Originally from Syracuse, Chris Dambach is a Service-Disabled USMC veteran who served with the 1st Marine Division 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance in Iraq in 2009. After his military service, he started his first business with a simple Pennysaver lawn care ad in 2010. Dambach turned to the Onondaga Small Business Development Center for counseling advice in 2011 and graduated from the Institute for Veterans and Military Families Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (the “EBV”) in 2013. While at EBV, Dambach was selected for the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award.”
“Dambach pursued his first government contract with the help of the North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center (“PTAC”) in Watertown. As his business grew, Dambach used the SBA Patriot Express loan program to successfully compete for numerous federal government contracts including with the Mattydale Army Reserve Center, Long Island National Cemetery, and Brooklyn VA Hospital. Dambach’s company was one of the first 50 certified as a New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business in 2014.”
“Today, Veteran Lawn Care Services is a million-dollar business with 15 employees, 17 subcontractors, and contracts for property maintenance, waste management, janitorial work, tree removal, and window washing services across the Northeast. In 2014, Dambach launched a second business, Bacon Bandits, to tap into the Syracuse food truck scene. Its signature product, a sandwich topping called “Bacon Jam,” has become a local favorite and Dambach is pursuing regional retail distribution opportunities.”
